Sealing with Fey laminar rings
Sealing with laminar rings means precise control of clearance dimensions, media flows and particle ingress under demanding operating conditions. Thanks to their metallic, multi-wound structure, laminar rings offer a particularly stable and low-wear alternative to classic sealing elements. They work reliably at high speeds, heavy thermal loads and limited installation space – typical challenges in modern drive and bearing applications.
The defined sealing gaps reduce lubricant loss, protect sensitive components and increase the service life of entire assemblies. At the same time, the rings ensure constant function even under vibrations and pressure fluctuations. This makes them ideally suited for bearing seals, piston and cylinder seals as well as lubricant protection in a wide variety of industrial sealing systems.

In the case of rotating bearing points, sealing elements must withstand high speeds, pressure fluctuations and particle loads. Fey laminar rings offer a robust, low-wear solution for this with precisely defined gap structures. Thanks to the multi-wound metal geometry, a reliable seal is created that minimises lubricant loss while simultaneously preventing the ingress of dust and media.
In piston and cylinder systems, sealing components are exposed to high lateral forces, changing pressure conditions and continuous stroke movements. FK2 and FK4 series laminar rings are specially designed for these operating modes: they guide the piston precisely, stabilise the clearance dimensions and reduce leakage over the entire duty cycle.
In applications with open lubricant systems, reliable sealing against grease loss and the ingress of particles is crucial. The FK6 – ASD, ISD and ISKD variants were specially developed to keep lubricants safely in the system and to protect sensitive assemblies from wear.
