Expander (polygon ring) as element for radial centring of static components
FK 10 Expander (Polygon Ring)
The FK 10 expander is a support element with spring properties that is bent into shape from flat steel strip.
The expander ring can be used to centre rotationally symmetrical components inside one another. This ensures that the components are evenly aligned and reduces vibration-related noise effectively.
The field of application of the FK 10 expander is limited to static applications. Examples can be found in pipe connections such as exhaust manifolds and cooling systems.
Ring materials
1) Varies depending on the type of thermal treatment! Hardness values depending on ring cross-section measured in Rockwell HRA or HRC.
2) The surface colour can vary depending on the type of heat treatment from bright silver/bluish colour to brownish/black.
Sample applications:
Run and installation tests:
Run and installation tests under operating conditions must be performed in each case before standard production of our laminar rings can begin to determine whether the desired support function can be achieved.
Order information:
Expander rings are application-specific components and must be individually designed by our technical office, which will provide you with all the relevant information.
