Fey laminar sealing rings

Fey laminar rings offer a particularly robust and dimensionally stable type of metallic sealing. The characteristic laminar structure creates defined sealing gaps that reliably protect against lubricant loss, dust, particles, and thermal loads.

The different versions—single and multi-turn, open, closed, or combined with retaining functions—enable their use in a wide variety of machine and drive systems.

Advantages of Fey sealing technology

Fey stands for sealing technology that maintains consistent performance even under demanding conditions. Precise metal geometries, controlled preload and high dimensional stability ensure that the sealing effect is maintained even in the face of vibration, high speeds or fluctuating temperatures. Thanks to the wide range of variants and carefully selected material options, FEY rings can be tailored precisely to the specific application.

This reduces friction, extends the service life of bearing positions, and increases the process and operational reliability of entire systems. Thus, FEY sealing elements offer not only sealing in the traditional sense, but clear technical added value – wherever reliability and precision are decisive.

Typical Applications

Bearing sealing (rolling and slide bearings)

As a bearing seal, the Fey laminar ring reliably protects against dust and particles while simultaneously providing an effective barrier to reduce lubricant loss.

For applications with temperatures where plastics already fail, our laminar rings offer a fatigue-resistant alternative. Thanks to our innovative manufacturing, some of these can withstand continuous temperatures of up to +700°C without losing their function.

High speeds often prove to be a problem for contact seals due to the peripheral velocity. Our laminar rings operate with low contact, which—especially with our FK 3 AS and FK 6 ASD series—allows for the sealing of applications with extremely high speeds.

Whether used as a seal against splashing oil or to maintain a grease cushion, the Fey laminar ring is utilized in a wide variety of applications.

In medical and food technology, there are special requirements for all materials used. By using the material 1.4571, we are also able to cover these fields of application.

In some cases, our rings can also perform dual functions of simultaneous retention and sealing.
